Ty was honored to be the special guest on Thursday at the 14th annual UNI African American Read-In at the University of Northern Iowa. The event was part of the National African American Read-In, which celebrates the work of African American authors and reaches over 1 million readers every year.

Ty’s ground-breaking chapter book Danny Dollar Millionaire: The Lemonade Escapade has been adapted into a play through the Berkshire Theatre Group in Western Massachusetts.
Ty had the pleasure of speaking to over 500 students and 100+ educators at Frederick Harris Elementary School in Springfield, MA during Family Literacy Day. After school there was an open house where he gave a keynote to the parents about the importance of reading in the home.
Ty has been presented with Berkshire County’s Top 25 Most Dedicated, Most Creative and Most Influential award by Berkshire Magazine.
Ty brought his passion and energy to the students of Arthur T. Talmadge Elementary School on Wednesday, March 23rd. Each 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade student received a copy of his book Danny Dollar Millionaire Extraordinaire and then they ended the day with a pizza party!
